​​​​​​​​​​​​The Greek word "Memphis" originates from the ancient Egyptian term Men-nefer which means enduring and beautiful. As such the name stands symbolic for the work in progress that is mankind. Since the time of Memphis, capital city to Egypt some 5000 years ago, civilizations rose and fell. Curiously it is in the modern city of Memphis USA where the ancient story of our dual nature mirrors succinctly.

 

​If enduring and beautiful is synonymous for journey and destination then "Marching on Memphis" moves to a purpose. And--what better purpose but to raise awareness and support for the great causes that unite us?​

 

​We launched this project at the Oregon coast in 2012, the year September became National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
